Official Poster - Lollapalooza 2016
Hot off the Press ~ Lollapalooza 2016 Limited Edition Official 25th Anniversary Poster
For our 25th Anniversary, we knew we had to go big with our poster artist! Frank Kozik first designed a poster for Lolla back in 1995, when both were young upstarts, and has since become a true powerhouse in the creative world. For the 2016 version, he gives us classic Kozik with a gleeful yet slightly menacing image rendered in a rainbow of super-saturated color. It's a nod both to Lollaplooza's legacy as a disruptive force on the music landscape with a subtle homage to its new Chicago hometown. As is our tradition, the poster is offered in two editions for both serious and most casual collectors. Each is printed in a limited run and once sold out will not be re-issued.

About the Artist
Frank Kozik has been a working artist since the 1980s and today is best known as creative director for Kidrobot. He was born in 1962 in Madrid, Spain, to an American serviceman father and Spanish mother, and the experience of growing up under fascist dictator Franco would serve as a major influence on his work. After joining the Air Force and stationing in Austin, Kozik’s creative career rose largely out of his enthusiasm for the city’s nascent underground punk rock scene. An entirely self-taught artist, Kozik transitioned from making black and white fliers for his friends’ bands into producing large, colorful silkscreen concert posters for the likes of Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Green Day and Nirvana. He also directed several music videos, including Soundgarden’s “Pretty Noose.” A move to San Francisco in 1993 saw the launch of his own label, Man’s Ruin Records, which occupied the rest of the decade. In 2001, Kozik closed Man’s Ruin to devote himself full time to fine art, design and the newly emerging art toy movement. To date, he has designed more than 500 figures, including the iconic Labbit character. Kozik also designs products and campaigns for major media and lifestyle brands such as Nike, Swatch and Absolut. Under his own imprint, Ultraviolence, he produces limited-edition art objects in vinyl, fiberglass, bronze and Limoges porcelain. Kozik’s work has been exhibited in over 40 group shows and 35 one-man gallery exhibits worldwide. He currently lives and works in San Francisco with his wife, Sharon, and their four cats. Luckily for us, he still finds time to design posters.
